Pondside Aquatic Gardens LLC
We aim to make fresh organic produce by harnessing the power of nature. Where fish and plants grow together in natures perfect harmony.
About
At Pondside Aquatic Gardens, we believe that the most sustainable food systems are inspired by nature itself. Our goal is to provide the local community with fresh, organic produce grown through the perfect harmony of fish and plants. By using aquaculture and other sustainable technologies, we harness the natural cycle where fish nourish plants, and plants purify the water—creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that produces nutrient-rich food without harmful chemicals or waste.
Our approach is more than just farming; it’s a commitment to a healthier future. Traditional agriculture relies on synthetic fertilizers and excessive water use, but our methods work with nature, not against it. Through aquaponics and other eco-friendly techniques, we grow vibrant, chemical-free vegetables while maintaining clean, healthy water for our fish. This closed-loop system not only conserves resources but also offers a model for sustainable food production that can support future generations.
We’re passionate about sharing this knowledge with our community. By educating others—especially young minds—about the connection between fish, plants, and food, we hope to inspire a shift toward more responsible and regenerative farming practices. Whether you’re here to enjoy our fresh produce, learn about sustainable growing methods, or create your own thriving backyard ecosystem, we invite you to be a part of this movement. Together, we can build a future where fresh, local, and sustainable food is the standard, not the exception.

The Integrated Aqua-Vegeculture System (iAVs) is an innovative, open-source method for sustainable food production that combines aquaculture and horticulture. Developed by Dr. Mark R. McMurtry in the 1980s, iAVs leverages a symbiotic relationship between fish and plants to grow food efficiently while conserving resources. Fish produce nutrient-rich water that irrigates sand-based grow beds, where plants absorb nutrients and purify the water before it is recirculated back to the fish tanks. This simple yet effective system eliminates the need for pH adjustments, fertilizers, or complex components, making it accessible and environmentally friendly.
